DOWNLOADS
Category | For which operating system? | Notes |
Racer beta versions (highly recommended) | Windows, Linux and Mac OS X (universal binaries) | Latest & hopefully greatest :) |
Last fully non-Cg version: v0.6.5 (only for really old graphics cards) | Windows | This version is the last one that doesn't require medium- to high-end graphics cards. Recommended for people that want to get a taste of Racer but don't have good graphics cards. For all other people, the beta versions are much newer. |
Latest stable version: 0.5.0 (better try the newer versions) | Released on 30-3-'03 (a palindrome!) |
MORE CARS AND TRACKS
No additional cars & tracks are available on Racer, but lots of them are available on the internet. Visit the Content page for a bunch of links to sites all over the world.
EXTRA TOOLS / EXPORTERS
Check out the '3rd party tools and exporters' page for things such as exporters for Maya/Blender.
SOURCE CODE
There is source code available, but it's quite old (v0.5.0). No newer source code will be released, but the v0.5.0 code (although perhaps not even half as big as it is today) is still a resource that can be used to check out the underlying structure of Racer, for studying purposes.
Visit the Source code page for more information.
