INTRODUCTION
Please try the beta version instead? It's quite a bit better by now. Click here. Also, the Linux version hasn't been updated for years (so many stuff being added, hard to keep up and not a dedicated machine present). Some people run Racer these days under Wine, which seems to work, including Cg shaders and all that. I hope to add a tutorial one day on how that works (I don't know myself really).

Download the data and binary files (select the type of videocard for the binaries) below and proceed to the installation instructions.
For sound, you'll need FMod version 3.61. In case FMod doesn't provide the library file, here is version 3.61. Put the file in /usr/lib.
Version v0.4.7 and perhaps later ones are available through binary packages compiled by Uwe Schuerkamp. Note that the mirrors may carry versions for other Linux versions, like Mandrake 8.0 etc. (or other video cards).
