Getting
more out of Racer
Better
equiped hardware could use reflection mapping, filtering etc. |

By default, Racer keeps a relatively low-profile when it comes
to graphics to get things up & running with as little trouble as possible
(if that's possible). You can add some flavour if you've got a better-than-average
computer system.
- Extra resolution; if you're
on Windows, you can select a bigger view by running Config and selecting your
preferred window size. On other platforms, modify gfx.ini directly and set
resolution.width and resolution.height (and resolution.bits) to the amount
you prefer. Note that higher resolutions ofcourse mean lower framerates.
- Extra visibility; modify racer.ini's
fx.visibility (which is in meters). Nice values range from 500-1500. The lower
the number, the faster the framerate but the less far you can see.
- Increasing the replay buffer size;
modify racer.ini's replay.size (and possibly size_ghost) to get more replay
time. This will probably be introduced in v0.4.9.
