INTRODUCTION

Although I've never tried converting rFactor tracks myself, it is possible to do. A rough outline here gives you an idea of the work involved.

Note you should ofcourse not publish original (copyrighted) rFactor tracks, only those for which you have permission.

WORKFLOW

• Extract the rFactor GMT and DDS files (using the MAS utility program)
• Convert all dds to tga's
• Modify all gmt's to use tga's instead of dds's (using for example a php script to replace all "dds" strings in the gmt files with "tga")
• Import all the gmt's into ZModeler2
• Export the zmod2 file to zmod1 format
• Export all the objects in zmod1 to dof
• Optionally use some scripts to generate shaders and geometry files etc.
